The Zambia Police Service has revealed that hundred and seventeen road traffic accidents were recorded country wide during the New Year holiday celebration, from the 31st of December 2021 to the 2nd of January 2022.
Speaking when he featured on the neighborhood program on one love radio ZP National Road Traffic Safety Coordinator Yoram Phiri said out of 1, 17 traffic accidents 10 were fatal accidents in which 10 persons died.
He said 23 were slight in which 27 were slightly injured, adding that the country recorded fewer accidents this festive season compared to the 2020/2021 period.
“So new year it was a bit less to 117 accidents recorded country wide of which 10 where fatal and 10 persons died”, he said.
