Lusaka water, supply and Sanitation Company says it has a master plan serving as a frame work for all innervations aimed at in improving access to water in Lusaka city.
Company Public Relations Manager Nshamba Muzungu told One Love Radio news in an interview that one of the biggest projects is the Kafue bulk water improvement project which has been operationalized hence being able to transmit an additional 60 million liters of water into Lusaka per day.
Mr. Muzungu said there is need to mobilize resources as the utility is capital intensive to be able to improve the supply of water as well as to close the gap in terms of the deficit in regards to water supply.
“In most of the peri-urban areas we are implementing a number of smaller projects to improve access, such as Bauleni compound, Jack compound, George compound, Kanyama, Chipata and many other areas,” he said.
