The Zambia Association of Manufactures ZAM says the small-medium enterprises face quite a number of challenges that may come naturally virtual of their size as well as their setup

ZAM Coordinator for proudly Zambia campaign Lewis chimfwembe highlighted access to finance as one of the challenges that small and medium enterprises face.

Mr. Chimfwembe said with access to finance, a study that was done showed that the possibility of an SME having access to a loan at a bank or a financial company is minimal as compared to a big company.

“The possibility of a loan in the application being declined by a bank that is being applied for by an SME as compared to the large company the difference is big, in most cases the banks would not want a small enterprise but would fund bigger enterprises because the bigger companies have got a reputation with people well connecting,” he said.
