Resident Doctors Association of Zambia Dr. Sampa has encouraged people to stay away from alcohol to make right decisions.
Association president Dr. Brian Sampa said alcohol abuse has also been the major contributor to the congestion in hospitals of cases to do with accidents among others
Dr. Sampa said the higher number of cases such as diseases, accidents, gender-based violence, and other violent activities being attended to in hospitals are attached to alcohol.
He said alcohol is a poison that should be avoided, as there is no amount of alcohol consumed which is safe.
“Alcohol can make you do things you wouldn’t do when you are sober. Even in hospitals, we receive a number of cases attached to alcohol,” he said.
