Equip Clothing Limited has called for the government support in enforcing the anti-dumping duty on cheap imported clothing commonly known as salaula.
Company Business Development Associate Mumbe Musoka said this will rectify the distortive effects caused by the trade of these goods and will establish fair trade
She noted the need for Zambians to support local companies as it brings about sustainability improves lives and has the potential to employ the masses.
We need the same incentives applied to foreigners such as zero duty on imported capital machinery and equipment to also apply to us. As SMEs we hold 78 percent of the manufacturing industry, so we are asking government to at least have or look into such incentives,” she said.
