ARREST OF CHIKOTA AND OTHERS MERE MISUNDERSTANDING.

United Party for National Development UPND Deputy National youth Chairperson in charge of mobilizing and politics Trevor Mwiinde has reiterated that the arrest of some youths by the police in Chembe district Mansa was a misunderstanding.

This follows reports stating that police in Mansa arrested UPND deputy National youth chairperson Mr. Stephen Chikota and 19 others for damaging a police car and holding an illegal protest among other illegalities.

Mr. Mwiinde has told one love radio news that there was no attack on the police, reiterating that it was only a misunderstanding between the youths and the Zambia police.

He says as UPND they will involve all stakeholders in the development agenda to ensure that the Plight of youths is properly addressed.

“I want to still say I stand with the youths because they voiced out on a thing that Zambia police did not report, certain illegalities can only take the community to report,” he said.

Mr. Mwiinde has also distanced himself from statements circulating on social media that his advocating for the firing of ministers.

 “I have means and ways of addressing any minister that I see is not doing things correctly, I have got access to them and we are able to walk in their office and resolve issues in a mature manner,” he said.
