The Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) has advised Local Authorities to be awarding the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) contracts on merit to deserving contractors.
The Commission warned that it will not hesitate to fire officers who will be found engaging in corrupt practices.
Addressing Serenje town council chief officers at the civic center, Commission Vice Chairperson Brian Ndumba said the Commission will part company with Procurement Officers and Directors of Works who will be caught soliciting for “kickbacks” when awarding CDF contracts.
He further advised the Local Authority to effectively and efficiently implement the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) projects as government is in a hurry to develop the country.
“We hope that people have reached to an extent of appreciating these jobs which they have. We have a lot of sober people out there who need these jobs which you have,” he said.
