With the Copper Queens already qualified to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, Zambia has an additional representative in FIFA Referee, Diana Chikotesha, who is among 55 assistant referees selected to officiate at the biggest football showpiece for women.
Sports Analyst Yotum Mwanza said the appointment of Diana Chikotesha is a welcome move that needs recommendation by Zambians.
Mwanza said what Diana has achieved is an inspiration to the many women in the Zambian league coming to the fore to be able to be assistant referees.
He further encouraged women coming in to the job to exercise patience and build their skills on the local grounds for them to be recommended in coming opportunities.
“what is Important is for them to be able to lay a ground, just like what has been done by Diana Chikotesha,” he said.
