CHILD FUND ZAMBIA DONATES CHOLERA TREATMENT ITEMS WORTH K2.3 MILLION

USAID through Child Fund Zambia has handed over cholera treatment supplies worth 2.3 million Kwacha to the Ministry of Health in an effort to fight against cholera.

The supplies include food items, blankets and heaters.

Speaking at the handover ceremony in Lusaka, Child Fund Zambia Country Director Simba Machingaidze said health care services is at the core of Child Fund Zambia’s programming as it directly impacts children and women.

“Zambia’s goal to becoming a prosperous middle-income country by 2030 is dependent on, among other things, a health productive nation.” Mr. Machingaidze added.

And speaking at the same event, Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary – Donor Coordination George Sinyangwe said it is gratifying that organizations such as Child Fund have taken interest in supporting the government in responding to the cholera outbreak.
