Kids against crime Zambia has described early child marriage in the country as child abuse, which poses a threat to the economy and health of young people.
Organization director Musenge Sampala said there is need do away with certain cultures and poverty which he says are the major causes of child marriage.
Mr. Sampala has also called for the need to engage rural headmen and traditional leaders in seriously embarking on sensitizing about the dangers of such vices.
“Sensitization on early marriage has to reach in all areas, we need to embark on talking about this every day, so that we should combat this thing, when you take a child below the age of 18 you are abusing that child, you are denying that child access to decisions”, he said.
