With the launch of the child health week by the ministry of health which started on Monday the 23rd of august 2021 and will run up to Saturday the 28th of august 2021, ChildFund Zambia has come on board to supplement government efforts by assisting child fund staff with financial support to ease their movements in reaching out to parents in the remotest places about the importance of vaccination
Speaking in an exclusive interview with one love radio Mumbwa Child Development Agency Chief Executive Officer Gracious Nkete says the agency has also put in place fuel to ensure that the health personnel are able to reach the parents in terms of conducting the rural outreach programs because it is important for the well being of children.
“We have increased the number of children within Mumbwa child development agency catchment area with health services as well as taking the health care services closer to health seekers” she said.
“We have provided provision of fuel to the health facilities within the catchment area to carry out outreach programs” She added
She has called upon care givers in communities to come on board and support the vaccination program, stating that if there is no support at household level, the children will not be vaccinated hence causing vulnerability.
