ECZ LAUNCHES CONTINUOUS VOTER REGISTRATION CVR.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia ECZ has launched the continuous voter registration CVR in various districts across the country.

Speaking in Lusaka, ECZ Chairperson justice Esau Elliot Chulu said the program signifies an important milestone in the history and operations of the ECZ.

He said the exercise will cover 10 districts namely Choma, Mansa, Chinsali, Solwezi, Lusaka, Chipata, Kasama, Ndola, Kabwe and Mongu.

And ECZ commission Secretary in Mansa Bob Musenga said the exercise registration centers have been set in respective districts and will operate five days a week from 08:00hrs-17:00hrs excluding weekends and public holidays.

Mr. Musenga called on all eligible Zambian citizens who are 18years old and above in possession of green national registration cards to register as voters.

“Today we commence the continuous voter registration CVR of voters. Yesterday we met stakeholders to take them through a detailed presentation on how we will conduct this exercise and the services that the commission will be offering,” he said.

Meanwhile, In Mongu the exercise will commence on 1st July 2022, due to a By-election scheduled for 30th June 2022 in line with the provisions of the law.
