Vice president Mutale Nalumango charges that former president Edgar Lungu can still be investigated despite his immunity.
Republican Vice-President Mutale Nalumango told parliament that investigations against former republican President Edgar Lungu have nothing to do with his immunity.
Responding to Bangweulu Member of Parliament Anthony Kasandwe who wanted to know whether the new dawn government was prosecuting the former head of state, Ms. Nalumango said investigations should be differentiated from prosecution.
The Vice-president stated that the former head of state still enjoys his full immunity as enshrined in the constitution but that it does not mean he cannot be investigated.
She added that every person can be investigated regardless of their position in society and as such investigation must be clearly differentiated to prosecution.
