Zambian economist Lubinda Haabazoka says the inflation rate will be affected negatively because of fuel increment despite a positive reduction in the previous months.
According to the central statistics office of Zambia the inflation rate has constantly been reducing from 19.3 in November 2021 to 13.1 in the month of March 2022.
Mr. Haabazoka said the increase in fuel prices will also affect the prices of commodities of which the inflation rate might receive an impact.
“Fuel prices affect the inflation rate because fuel is a major input in production and transportation,” he said.
