The Financial Sector Deepening Zambia FSD has called for concerted efforts in addressing challenges hindering equal access to financial services for women at household level.
FSD Chief Executive Officer Engwase Mwale said Gender and Social Norms have continued to affect women in the financial system.
Speaking in a speech read on her behalf by FSD Acting Director of Programs Charity Chikumbi at the presentation of a research study, Ms. Mwale said more needs to be done, as Gender and Social Norms shape economic opportunities.
The study is focused on rural parts of Eastern and Southern Zambia to assess how women and men are affected by social and cultural norms in the financial sector.
“we must ensure that women have equal access to financial education and relevant financial training and management towards enhanced financial, literacy,” she said.
