Private Sector Development Association PSDA has noted the need for government to look at the cost of accessing Information and Communication technology ICT services in the country to make it easier for people to access online developments.
Association Chairperson Yusuf Dodia said during the COVID 19 most people will not embrace using online platforms if the cost of ICT is high.
Mr. Dodia who is also an economist said there is need to look at the policy to make the cost of accessing ICT much cheaper in the country.
“If the cost of ICT is very high it means people won’t be able to embrace ICT’s, we want to be able to see government and through ZICTA remove all the fees and tax on the service providers who are providing internet services so that Zambia citizens and private sectors can find it very cost effective to use ICT and their can be a lot of online developments”, he said.
