Government has continued to initiate its monitoring and evaluation process to ensure the social welfare food security packs program is not abused.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with One Love Radio news, Minister of Community Development and Social Services Doreen Mwamba, clarified government’s stance to ensure that the packs are delivered to the poor and vulnerable.
She said the monitoring and evaluation process in fields is done to ensure that the packs are used as intended by the beneficiaries.
“There is prudent management of these resources, prudent management!” she said.
Ms. Mwamba explained that it was discovered that other people were receiving food security packs for years and had never given others a chance, while others never used to honestly use the benefits as intended hence the move by government to pick other people to benefit from the current packs.
