United Party for National Development UPND Deputy National Chairperson for Politics and Mobilization Trevor Mwiinde says the UPND Government is working towards empowering all citizens through the Constituency Development Fund CDF by releasing more funds to the needed beneficiaries.

Mr. Mwiinde said despite some delays in the CDF disbursement process, there is need for all citizens to take advantage of the funding that the government is providing through CDF, as it is a perfect tool to improving the living standards of people in the country.

Speaking on the Bottom-Line Program on One Love Radio, Mr. Mwiinde said the idea of increasing the CDF allocation is in order for UPND to address the country’s challenges such as poverty, in a much broader way, in line with President Hakainde Hichilema’s vision to empower all citizens.

“UPND’s focus is on increasing subsidies on production as opposed to consumption subsidies in order to increase local production of goods and services, ensure food security and lower the cost of living,” he said.
