The Ministry of Local Government has undertaken health regulation measures in public places as efforts to facilitate a clean and health environment amid cases of covid 19 and diarrhea among others.
Speaking during a press briefing Minister of Local Government Garry Nkombo said the Ministry has intensified its efforts in the regulation of restaurants, bars, taverns, as well as casinos to ensure there is complete compliance with public health guidelines and regulations.
Mr. Nkombo said cleaning up and sanitizing of public places and facilities such as markets and bus stations on a daily basis will be undertaken and enhanced.
He further saID that street vending remains prohibited and those who deliberately refuse to sale in designated places and prefer selling in streets should stop with the rising cases of covid 19.
“The Ministry is there by directing the Lusaka City Council LCC and all the local authorities countrywide to clear out all venders in undesignated trading areas,” he said.
