Leadership Movement (LM) Leader Richard Silumbe says the non-alignment policy the new dawn government has taken of siding with the west only and not the East is worrying.
Dr. Silumbe alleged that since the election of President Hakainde Hichilema the country has been siding with the West and not the East.
“Zambia could have taken advantage of the Conference in South Africa where President Yu Jinxing was to discus and negotiate the debt the country has with China unfortunately; the “New Dawn” government concentrated on the just ended summit of democracy which has not yielded any tangible results,” Dr. Silumbe said.
He further reiterated that China is integral to the economic development of Zambia, charging that even the Kenneth Kaunda Airport where the US Vice President Kamala Harris landed from and the Mulungushi International Conference Centre KK Wing was belt by China.
Dr. Silumbe said America is not well placed to advise Zambia on debt restructuring because there is nothing that they have belt that people can point to.
