The Football Association of Zambia FAZ, has unveiled former Chelsea boss Avram Grant as new Chipolopolo head coach.
FAZ president Andrew Kamanga, made the announcement on Thursday morning at Taj Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka.
“Looking at the progress made in the recent past, we are Confident that with the coming in of a new team on the technical bench, we will reach a point of completion,” he said.
Grant arrived in the country on Wednesday ahead of his official unveiling and has signed a two-year deal with Chipolopolo.
The Zambia men’s national team, top job attracted an inflow of over 100 applicants and Grant emerged as the frontrunner ahead of locals and former National Team coaches Honor Janza and Wedson Nyirenda.
The Chipolopolo Boys top job fell vacant following the departure of Croatian gaffer Aljosa Asanovic in October.
