Huawei’s President of ICT Development and Marketing, Peng Song says the ICT industry should embrace both development and green solutions.
Delivering a keynote address during the Huawei Green ICT Summit in Barcelona, Mr. Song revealed that Huawei has launched a three phased green solution known as the 1-2-3 Green solution.
The president explained that Huawei will focus on the construction of green networks, introduce ecosystems that will ensure high energy efficiency and ultra-low consumption, while ensuring that its solutions cover sites, networks, and operations.

Mr. Song explained that the ICT industry seems to be faced with a tough choice to either go green or develop, adding that the industry has no choice but to go green and develop simultaneously.
Meanwhile Huawei Director of Public Relations in Zambia, Jane Zhang has said green solutions are essential to mitigating the effects of climate change and also resolve the issues of load-shedding being experienced in Southern Africa.
She explained that technology is also crucial to resolving challenges such as climate change and it is for that reason that most sector players are keen on sustainability.
