Golden party of Zambia says the 22 billion Kwacha supplementary budget shows lack of planning by the new dawn government.
On Wednesday president Hakainde Hichilema instructed finance minister Situmbeko Musokotwane to request parliament to approve a supplementary budget of k22 billion to allow government to spend extra income generated in 2022 from the savings from tight expenditure control and external debt services among others.
Party leader Jackson Silavwe said government has shown lack of fiscal discipline in the way they are managing resources.
He suggested that going forward government should learn to structure and plan properly if things are to move.
“They have to plan properly, they must make sure they correctly measure their expenditure so hat half way in the budget they should not go back to parliament and say we need more money,” he said.
