The Opposition Patriotic Front PF Vice president says the money which the new dawn government has released for free education is not enough to pay all the students in all operational schools in Zambia.
Speaking at a press briefing held at the PF Secretariat in Lusaka on Tuesday the 4th of January 2022 Mr. Given Lubinda said the money allocated per school is less than a salary for a teacher compared to the PTA funds the schools were receiving.
Mr. Lubinda Wondered how the quality education will be achieved hence asked the government to make better release to schools.
The Vice President notes that he wants the government to replace the 200 per students per term than what the government is offering.
” We further call upon government to make better and further releases to schools so that we do not compromise the quality education offered to our children in the pursuit of the lavish promise of free education”, he said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Lubinda asked the government to release the community based nurseries through Constituency Development Fund CDF stating that the schools are to open in 3 weeks and yet the Members of parliament are not aware when the CDF will be released.
