The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has disbursed amounts totaling K43 million for road maintenance in selected rural districts.

Permanent Secretary (Administration) Maambo Haamaundu said this is to facilitate for the immediate construction of critical Crossing-Points and Road improvement works in Gwembe District, Kasenengwa District, Mongu District, Chadiza District and the Ndola City Council among others that are the under Rural Infrastructure Development component of the 2022 Ministry budget.

He announced that the funding is earmarked to support the selected Districts in various Provinces to immediately embark on the construction and rehabilitation works of identified projects before the onset of the rains.

“We advise all the local authorities to utilize the funds for the intended purpose in order to achieve meaningful development,” he said.
