LET US NOT TEMPER WITH THE LOWER ZAMBEZI- MUKE

Save the Environment and Peoples Agency SEPA has appealed to government not to allow open pit mining activities go ahead at the lower Zambezi.

SEPA founder Mailes Muke said it is unfortunate and sad that government could allow mining in the area as it is an ecological zone.

She said it’s not too late for government to stop the act as the mining might destroy and disturb wildlife, rivers and the environment at large.

Ms. Muke told one love radio News in an interview that the mining in the area will carry many negatives than positives to the country.

“Zambia is indulged with other natural resources we can use, we can invest into other businesses we cannot afford to be mining in each and every districts especially the lower Zambezi, my appeal is that it’s not too late president Hakainde Hichilema, please there is a lot we can do, let us not temper with the lower Zambezi, please”, she said.
