LM CALLS ON UPND GOVERNMNET TO INVEST IN WINTER MAIZE PRODUCTION.

Leadership Movement (LM) Leader Richard Silumbe has alleged that the “New Dawn” Administration may be more corrupt than the former ruling Patriotic Front (PF).

Dr. Silumbe declared that corruption under the Leadership Movement will be non-bailable and once prosecuted; offenders will be getting 37 years imprisonment.

According to Dr. Silumbe, Government resources are sacred and paid for by the Zambian people, adding that public funds bring development to the country hence the need not to use private entities.

He said it’s regrettable that the New Dawn Government priorities changing laws to protect criminals instead of protecting the Zambian people

Meanwhile Party secretary General Jairos Ngoma called on the new dawn administration to focus on winter maize production to curb future Mealie-meal shortages.

Speaking at a press briefing Mr. Ngoma said amid of the food shortages that have hit the country Zambia has enough ground water and land to grow winter maize.

Mr. Ngoma said the New Dawn Administration” lack policy direction in terms of farming, charging that they have neglected peasant farmers who feed the country by supplying maize to FRA.

He added that the New Dawn Administration should critically look at agriculture as a business.

He said agriculture is a money spinner and every neighboring country is looking at Zambia hence, the “New Dawn” Administration must take advantage of that scenario and produce a lot of maize for export.
