The Department of Immigration has arrested Lumezi, Member of Parliament Munir Zulu, for contempt of court.
Immigration public relations officer Namati Nshinka said in a statement that the Lusaka Resident Magistrate Silvia Munyinya issued bench warrants for Mr. Kaizer Zulu’s bail sureties, Mr. Munir Zulu, and Chilubi Member Of Parliament Mr. Mulenga Fube for failure to prevail on Mr. Kaizer Zulu not to abscond court sessions.
“Hon. Munir Zulu was nabbed in the early hours of 6th July 2023 at a named Lodge in Roma after previously eluding Immigration Officers,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nshinka also said Mr. Mulenga Fube complied with the bench warrant and made his representations before Lusaka Resident Magistrate Silvia Munyinya.
He stated that, this is the case where Mr. Kaizer Zulu is charged with three counts of failure to surrender Diplomatic passports and failing to appear before an Immigration Officer upon entry into the country.
