LUSAKA RESIDENTS COMPLAIN OVER INCONSISTENT POWER SUPPLY

* While UPND condemns criticisms on government by people over load shedding.

Some residents of Lusaka’s Chaisa Compound have complained over ZESCO’s Load Management Schedule.

ZESCO recently announced the adjustment of the Load Management Schedule from 12 hours daily to 6 hours of two with a 6 hours break.

And the residents who preferred to be unknowns said the schedule is very confusing and unconvincing, further accusing the power utility company of not following the schedule.

They since urged ZESCO to consider limiting Load Shedding only during the day, as the situation is posing a security threat, as unscrupulous people take advantage of the dark in the night.

Meanwhile United Party for National Development UPND has condemned acts by some members of the public criticizing government over the current load shedding in the country.

UPND Chairperson for Energy Engineer Charles Kaisala said all those still criticizing government for load shedding should stop as this was an issue that has existed long before the party got into power.

“Of late we have seen everybody has become an expert on energy talking about things they don’t even understand,” he said

Mr. Kaisala said it is surprising that a lot of people have decided to put a blame on the UPND government over load shedding when the previous governments failed to resolve the problem.

He further reiterated that such criticism and statements being released by some people tend to cause confusion and mislead the nation, hence people should help in providing solutions as President Hakainde Hichilema remains committed of addressing the situation.
