Tourism Minister Rodney Sikumba has called on the private sector to speak with one voice as Government is working to see a rebound of the industry.
Speaking when he graced the EU-Zambia Business Club Breakfast Meeting on rebooting the tourism sector at Lusaka’s Latitude 15 on Tuesday the 12th of April 2022, the Minister said government wants tourism to blossom by lowering the cost of doing business and increasing arrival volume.
He said government wants to take minimal infrastructure developments to increase access in the Kafue, Lower Zambezi, the South Luangwa and Northern Circuit among other important areas.
“You will do well if you gave us an opportunity to show you how best we mean for the sector and how much we are willing to work with you the private sector to reboot the tourism sector,” he said.
And Tourism Development Consultant Molly Care said the survival of the business throughout the tourism eco-system is at risk without Government support.
She said there is need to support businesses to adapt and survive post the Covid 19 effects on the sector, promote domestic tourism and support the safe return of international travelers.
