The Chipata District Famers Association says the reviewing of fuel prices every month is affecting the farming community.
Association Coordinator Virgil Malambo said, from the time it was introduced, fuel has been more on the increase and that whenever there is some reduction it is very minimal.
Mr. Malambo noted that the increase has negatively affected the famers as the price of transporting their produce keep increasing.
“How we wish these reviews were done quarterly, to give an indication of trends per period, because mostly our farmers are the ones being hit hard,” he said.
The Energy Regulation Board -ERB on Tuesday adjusted upward the prices of Petrol by 80 Ngwee per litter, while kerosene and diesel remain the same.
