The National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) has announced that it has paid out a total of one billion and twenty three million kwacha in Pre-retirement Lump sum Benefits as at 1st May 2023.
NAPSA Head of corporate affairs Cephas Sinyanwe said the milestone is in the government’s quest to empower citizens so that they can invest in various businesses and create the much needed jobs.
He stated that the milestone is important as it accords with the celebration of international Labor Day which celebrates the contribution of workers to the economy.
Mr. Sinyangwe said there is enough liquidity to meet all the claims and that members can elect to claim the funds now or later as they choose.
