- AMID REOPENING OF SCHOOLS IN THE FIRST TERM OF 2023.
The National Action for Quality Education in Zambia NAQEZ has called on the Ministry of Education to afford the schools with enough desks to enable social distancing.
NAQEZ Executive Director Aaron Chansa said with the resurgence of the covid -19 in the country, it will be hard for learners to exercise physical distance in classrooms hence the need for more desks if the virus is to be curbed.
Mr. Chansa stated that there is need for infrastructure expansion if the teachers are to manage the covid-19 situation in schools as classrooms are overcrowded due to the introduction of the free education policy.
“I hope that the Ministry will make it a priority to accord the schools enough desks,” he said.
