The opposition Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) says it decided not to back the Patriotic Front (PF) in the Kabushi by-election because the party was not approached by anyone to do so.
Speaking to One Love Radio news, PeP President Mr Sean Tembo said his party will focus on winning the by-election in Kabushi through the candidature of Kingsley Chipulu whom the party has since adopted.
He added that his party is confident of winning the by-election in that constituency because Mr. Chipulu understands the challenges people of Kabushi are going through.
“We believe we stand a very good chance of scooping Kabushi,”he said.
Recently, Opposition Socialist Party President Dr. Fred M’membe announced that his political party will back Bowman Lusambo’s adoption under the Patriotic Front ticket, a statement which has been welcomed and supported by New Heritage Party Deputy Secretary General Gershom Kapalaula.
