The Patriotic Front (PF) has charged that the summoning of the party’s Acting Secretary General Honorable Nickson Chilangwa by the Joint Investigation Team as nothing but witch-hurt.
PF Chairperson for Information and Publicity and also Member of the Central Committee Raphael Nakachinda said despite the party not being aware of the reasons for his summoning, the party suspect that it is the continued harassment of members by the ruling party.
Mr. Nakachinda said the party was not surprised with the latest summoning as few days ago Lusaka lawyer Anna Mwitwa of Anna Mwitwa Legal Practitioners was also arrested by the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) on charges of being in possession of property reasonably suspected of be proceeds of crime.
Speaking to One Love Radio news in an interview, Mr. Nakachinda further described the continued arrests and summoning of PF officials as unfortunate.
“We are disappointed by the continued harassment of our members. The summoning of our Acting SG Hon. Nickson Chilangwa is an example of the failed leadership being exhibited by President Hakainde Hichilema,” he said.
