POULTRY ASSOCIATION OF ZAMBIA BACKS PRONOUNCEMENT TO EXPORT CHICKENS TO SAUDI ARABIA.

The Poultry Association of Zambia has welcomed the pronouncement by the Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises Development, ELIAS MUBANGA that Zambians in the poultry business must get ready for the export of chickens to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Association President Dominic Chanda said for any industry to grow it needs to boost the local market and export market.

Mr. Chanda however hoped that the government pronouncement will be accompanied by action and openness in terms of modality as there are so many people that are keeping chickens.

He added that once the implementation is done, it will attract investors and in the long run jobs will be created which will contribute to the growth of the economy.

“Saudi Arabia has been a very creative market for those who have been able to capture that market for different products to be specific chickens. If an opportunity has opened for Zambian poultry to actually export into the country, it excites almost everyone,” he said.
