President Hakainde Hichilema has called for increased exports of Zambian products into Europe.
Speaking when he officially opened the first-ever EU- Zambia Forum-themed “Economic Transformation through Green Growth, in Lusaka, President Hichilema said political stability is an asset the country has which is a good catalyst for development and investment.
He said engagements such as the EU-Zambia Forum demonstrates the New Dawn Governments’ commitment to better the lives of many Zambians, through the creation of employment opportunities, and industrialization among others.
The Head of State said the forum presents an opportunity for growth of business in Zambia and compliments the government’s targets such as increased production of copper up to 3 million tones of copper in the next decade.
“I want to challenge all of us investors, that our political stability is unchallenged, even when we were threatened with instability in the recent past, Zambians rose and took a decision to stabilize the country,” he said.
