PRINTING OF EXAMINATION PAPERS ABROAD WORRIES NAQEZ

The National Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ) has expressed concern over the continued printing out of Zambia’s examination papers abroad by the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ).

NAQEZ Executive Director Aron Chansa in a statement availed to One Love Radio news, said the printing of local examination papers from outside Zambia is costly and has the potential to fuel corruption.

Mr. Chansa said Zambia can not afford wasteful expenditure, which can be avoided by localising prudent expenditure in line with the principles of right price, right quality and timely delivery of goods and services within the country.

He further appealed to the Ministry of Education to address the nation on this matter.

“If examination papers were to be printed locally, the ECZ would be in a position to save millions of Kwacha to motivate invigilators, examiners and markers, who labor so much to make the assessment of Grades 9 and 12 examination candidates a successful national practice,” he said.
