The Resident Doctors Association of Zambia has condemned the stance taken by the ministry of health on Matero general hospital management due to the concerns of people who access health care at the hospital
Association President Dr. Brian Sampa said the problem is not with the entire management but lack of resources and enough workers who are supposed to do the job.
He said even if health facilities had enough cleaners, it is very difficult to still maintain them as workers have other things to attend to.
Dr. Sampa added that not having running water twenty four seven in most health facilities has also contributed to not having clean toilets.
“We expect government to find a lasting solution which is not dismantling management, but providing enough cleaners and running water 24\7,” he said.
