Government says rehabilitation works on the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka will soon commence as Zambia hosts Comoros in a crunchy 2023 Africa cup of nations AFCON qualifiers on the 7th of June.
Speaking to One Love Radio sports in an exclusive interview Minister of Youth and Sports Elvis Nkandu said the stadium is receiving the much-needed attention from the ministry adding that that a contractor has already been engaged.
The Minister urged fans to be patient, as something will be done to fix the dilapidated portion of the roof at the stadium and then later complete the works after the game.
“We have engaged a contractor and by the 7th of June before the game, there is something we should do about that,” he said.
