RESIDENTS CRY FOR HELP.

Some residents of Kanyama West Garden house in Lusaka have continued to cry to the government over the rising criminal activities by alleged junkies in the area.

One of the residents in the area told One Love Radio news that Junkies have invaded their peace and have started destroying their properties.

“These young guys called junkies move from 19 to 20 hours in numbers of 20 to 30 and what they do is grab parcels from people and sometimes they tend to beat and rob people’s shops,” he said.

The resident who chose to remain anonymous further called on government to look into the issue seriously.

“These guys come from far places to terrorize our community, our appeal is to the police because we are in fear of our lives,” he further complained.

And when contacted for a comment area ward 14 councilor Mr. Mumba said he is aware of the situation and has continued to engage the police, further stating that the situation is becoming unbearable.

“Am aware of the situation and I have been making several calls and the police are assuring me that they are doing the job. Now this lawlessness has continued and I can’t see the impact of the police officers on the ground, people are being beaten,” he said.
