Former Minister of National Guidance and Religious Affairs Rev Godfridah Sumaili has urged Zambians to take the national day of prayer and fasting serious.
Speaking in an interview with one love radio Rev Sumaili says that, the breakthroughs that comes from this day is not only for the nation but for individuals.
She says, it is unfortunate that people are advocating for the removal of the national day of prayer and fasting wondering if the people have forgotten that Zambia is Christian nation.
Rev Sumaili states that Zambia is a Christian nation and that Jesus Christ reins over Zambia.
She notes that prayer is like breathing; therefore the nation will die if people start embracing those ideas of doing away with prayer.
“Prayer is the air that we breathe, and when you stop praying you die. We shall die as a nation if we begin to embrace those ideas of doing away with prayer. Our identity is Christian and each time we come together in prayer and fellowship with God, he is hearing us and he answers”. She said
