The Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA) has taken up an initiative of imparting knowledge to young people in schools in water resource management.
On the 21st of June 2023, a team from WARMA visited Kalundu Primary School, Nalubanda Community School, and Shamilimo Community Schools of Mumbwa District.The visits were meant to check on the groundwater monitoring stations and to engage with the learners on the importance of water resources management.
Speaking at Kalundu Primary School, Kafue Catchment Manager Mrs. Alice Nchimunya said WARMA recognized the importance of taking water resources management knowledge down to learners because WARMA recognized young people as the decision makers for the future.
And the school Deputy Head Teacher Ms. Georgina Mumba commended WARMA on its initiative of imparting knowledge to learners on the importance of water resources management.
She encouraged WARMA to continue with its good works and bring on board more initiatives that involve school-going children.
