Young Women in Action has started raising climate change awareness among women in the country.
Speaking to One Love Radio news in Lusaka, Young Women in Action executive director Harriet Chibuta said women are mostly dependent on natural resources for production in their livelihoods, hence knowledge on climate change mitigation and resilience is needed.
Ms. Chibuta said the awareness will help women prepare widely on what is advisable to do and plant in the current weather pattern in their area.
“Women out there have to understand climate change especially in the context to the area they are coming from, because impacts vary and people need to be able to understand how to be resilience in that specific context, she said.
