ZAMBIA RECORDS 30 BICYCLE ACCIDENTS.

The Zambia police services say in the first quarter of 2022 Zambia recorded 30 bicycles accidents

ZP Road Traffic Division Superintendent Yoram Phiri said 25 where cyclists while 5 where their passengers

Speaking to One Love Radio news, the superintendent said as the country commemorates world bicycle day, cycling, like other moderate physical activities, is extremely beneficial as it provides an affordable and sustainable means of transportation which cities should provide adequate infrastructure for.

Mr. Phiri said in a bid to avoid these accidents Zambia police has partnered with the Road Transport and Safety Agency to sensitize the cyclists on which side of the road there are supposed to cycle from.

“Copperbelt province is the only one which did not record any fatality on a bicycle but the province which was leading was Luapula province,” he said.
