Zambia Environmental Management Agency ZEMA says plans to establish a chemical observatory center are in progress.
ZEMA Manager Cooperate Affairs Friday Phiri told One Love Radio news that the project is being run with the ministry of health in the country to ensure chemicals in the county are collected and stored.
He gave an example of the chemicals that were used during the gassing incidents and many other chemical-related cases, stating that the poison information center will help know what kind of substances are used and what treatment can be given.
“The chemical observatory center in Zambia is where the usage of chemicals or chemicals being imported in the country will be monitored and data will be stored,” he said.
