ZAMMSA INTENSIFIES DISTRIBUTION OF COMMODITIES TO FIGHT CHOLERA

In a bid to mitigate the escalating cholera cases in the country, the Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) has, in the last week, distributed over 160,000 various essentials commodities aimed at both treating and preventing the further spread of the disease.

This is in addition of ZAMSA’S scheduled distribution of medicines and medical supplies to all the health facilities across the country. 

Senior Manager – Corporate Communications Bradley Chingobe said that ZAMSA has ramped up efforts in distributing essential health commodities used in the management and treatment of Cholera in response to the Government of the Republic of Zambia’s call for a multi-sectoral approach to halt the spreading of the epidemic.

Henceforth, ZAMMSA has distributed over 4600 bottles of disinfectants, 43000 packs of IV Fluids, 50000 examination gloves, 50,000 Cannulas and 8,000 Infusion giving Sets,” he said.

Mr. Chingobe further stated that ZAMSA has intensified this distribution at the onset of the epidemic further assuring the nation that this distribution process to combat Cholera is ongoing and more products will be distributed countrywide.
