Zambia National Marketers Credit Association ZANAMACA has supported the move by government to remove vendors from the streets.
The ministry of local government on Wednesday the 23rd of March 2022 announced that Cairo and chachacha roads in Lusaka are as no go areas for street vendors.
ZANAMACA president Mupila Kameya said traders who tend to sale in streets should understand that the government is only trying to create sanity for the country as the country needs to look clean.
Mr. Kameya further explained that streets cannot be turned into vending arrangements as they are meant for vehicles and pedestrians, further stating that government is aware of the rising population hence mechanisms have been put in place to ensure that traders are chartered for in markets.
“The association ZANAMACA is there if they have problems they can come to the association we can help them,” he said.
