The Zambia National Students Union Secretary General has called on the minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation Stanley kakubo to rescind his statement regarding the repatriation of students in Russia.
Earlier the minister said there is no need to evacuate any of the Zambians Students from Russia as the situation is calm
However Mr. Isaiah Mambwe felt the statement that was made by the minister was an understatement in that it is not fully informed of the consequences that would come by government neglecting those students.
Mr. Mambwe said in much as the situation can be calm in Russia, the impact of the sanctions have got a great contribution to influencing the stay of the students.
“There is need for government to mitigate and there is also need for a proper system and good research through Zambia’s embassies and asses the needs of the students besides the evacuation process,” he said.
