The Zambia National Building Society ZNBS has launched Bwela Timange Mortgage Promotion which signifies commitment to deliver affordable housing finance and accord Zambians an opportunity to own a home.
Speaking during the launch ZNBS Managing Director Mildred Mutesa says the promotion is a special invitation to all Zambians to partner with ZNBS in an effort to build a home or buy a home on terms that are affordable.
She notes that the promotion will run for six months starting from today, of which the interest rate during this promotion period has been reduced from 24%to 21%.
Meanwhile ZNBS Board Chairperson David Nama says the promotion is meant at enhancing strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagement to drive down the cost of building materials for clients.
Mr. Nama states that, the launch is also intended to supplement government efforts in reducing the current housing deficit faced by the country.
“One of the things we have continued to do is that, as we proceed and move in affording finance. We have always looked at who is not accessing and when we find those, we find a project and strategy around them to ensure that no one is left behind”. He said
He also reveals that ZNBS has set aside 80 million Kwacha to be disbursed during this promotion.
